Airbnb Preparation Time

Preparation time (Airbnb)

You can set preparation time for Airbnb on Uplisting. This blocks buffer nights around a booking automatically, so you always have time to clean and prepare a listing before the next guest checks in.

Introduction to preparation time

Preparation time is set separately for each listing, so you can give a property that needs a longer turnover more buffer without changing every other listing on your account.

📘Preparation time only syncs to Airbnb. It does not affect Booking.com, Google, Vrbo or your Direct booking website, or any other channel.
📘Changes only apply going forward. Updating this setting never alters availability on bookings that are already confirmed.

How to set preparation time

  1. Go to your Uplisting calendar > Listing > Availability > General
  2. Open the Preparation time dropdown and select one of the three options.
  3. Click Save details. Done!

Preparation time options

  • None

No nights are blocked. A guest can check in the same day another guest checks out. Use this if same-day turnover is realistic for the listing, or if maximizing bookable nights matters more than a buffer.

  • Block 1 night before and 1 day after each booking

Closes one night immediately before check-in and one day immediately after checkout. This is enough time for a standard clean, a linen change, and a walkthrough for most short-term rentals.

  • Block 2 nights before and 2 days after each booking

Closes two nights before and two days after each booking — a wider window. Suits larger properties with a deep clean or maintenance check, or listings where turnover is coordinated remotely or through a contractor's schedule.

How to confirm the setting is in place

Once saved, the blocked nights will appear on the listing's Airbnb calendar. If they don't show up straight away, allow a few minutes for the sync to complete before checking again.
