Changeover checklists
Changeover checklists
A changeover checklist is the list of jobs a cleaner works through at one listing. You set it once per listing, and every new changeover task at that listing starts with it.
Go to Action → Changeover settings. You need the "Manage Cleaning Scheduler" permission, which Managers and Operations teammates have by default.

Setting up a checklist
- Go to Action → Changeover settings.
- Click the listing you want to create a checklist for.
- Enter a checklist name, or keep the default name, Changeover checklist.
- Enter the first task, for example, Make the bed with fresh linen, and add it.
- Select a Room or category to group related items together on the cleaner's phone.
- Turn on Required to finish for any task that must be completed before the job can be marked as finished.
- Click Save.
Use the With a checklist or Without a checklist filters to find listings that have or have not been set up.
A checklist can contain up to 200 items. Uplisting will notify you when you reach the limit.

What you can add to a checklist item
Field | What it does |
|---|---|
Item | Describes what needs to be done. |
Room or category | Groups related items together. Items without a room are grouped under General. |
Instructions | Provides additional information the cleaner needs, such as where something is located or how it should be done. |
Required to finish | The job cannot be marked as finished until this item is completed. |
Ask for a photo | Prompts the cleaner to add a photo for this item. |
Reference photo | Shows the cleaner what the completed item should look like. You can add up to five reference photos per item. |
Reference photos can be JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF files.
What the cleaner sees
The checklist appears on the changeover task, grouped by room, with a count showing how many items have been completed and how many required items are still outstanding.
Items without a room are shown under Default on the cleaner's task, rather than General.

Tapping a reference photo opens it with the caption "From the property checklist — this is what done looks like."
Cleaners can also add a one-off item to their own copy of the checklist, such as Set up cot for next booking. They can add notes and photos to items as needed. These changes do not affect the listing's checklist.
Changing a checklist later
Editing a listing's checklist only affects new changeover tasks created after the change.
Existing tasks keep the checklist they were created with, so updating a checklist does not change tasks that are already scheduled.
Selecting Delete checklist works in the same way. New changeover tasks for that listing will be created without a checklist, while existing tasks keep their current checklist.
Photos on the job
Cleaners can add photos to individual checklist items or to the changeover task itself.
Photos are recorded with the name of the person who added them and the date and time they were added. This can be useful if a guest later disputes damage. See [Disputes].
FAQs
Can I require the cleaner to upload a photo?
No. Ask for a photo only prompts the cleaner to add one. Only Required to finish prevents the job from being completed until the item is completed.
I changed a checklist. Will tomorrow's job be updated?
No. Existing tasks keep the checklist they were created with. Only new changeover tasks use the updated checklist.
I have 40 listings. Do I need to create 40 checklists manually?
Each listing has its own checklist. Use the Without a checklist filter to quickly identify listings that still need to be set up.
