Phone Numbers & Regional Behavior

Q: What number will the guest see?
Uplisting uses a pool of owned phone numbers for SMS messages. Guests will receive messages from the closest regional Uplisting number (US, UK, Australia, or Spain). We intelligently match the number based on the guest’s phone number for better deliverability and cheaper reply rates. See Country Mappings below:

Q: Can I use or share my own number?
No. Uplisting numbers are used to protect host privacy.

Q: Can I share the Uplisting SMS number with a guest?
No. Numbers vary by region and are system-managed. Send an SMS first to establish the thread.

Q: Can all guests receive SMS globally?
Most can, but some carriers block international SMS. Failed deliveries will show a warning.

Q: What happens if a guest can’t receive SMS?
You’ll see a warning in the UI. Use another method to follow up.
